I've always thought Giselle would look gorgeous in Takeuchi Naoko's style. I'm not great at it (how does that woman take her freakish proportions and make them look good?!), but here's my attempt.
also, I have decided that Takeuchi Naoko is some kind of crazy coloring goddess. not only does she do her pictures by hand (aha my head would explode if you took away my undo button), but if you read her comments in the artbooks, they all go like "lol this one's really halfassed. it only took me like two hours!".

EtA: oh my gooood nobody ever let me upload anything before I take a good long look at it again. why did I ever think a blue background was good for this?!
new background, fixed some of the colors (her hair was too pink DX), generally tidied up a bit, and added some texture, because Takeuchi Naoko loooooves her some textures (if only I'd had some random glass beads to throw on there, too...). oh man, even the thumbnail looks a billion zillion times better now. what was I thinking?
credit where credit is due: the pattern from the background came from Obsidian Dawn. the overlaying texture is a scan of some recycled paper. the doily is from a stock photo, and the flower stencil was made from a piece of free clipart.
This is wonderful, I don't see why you'd feel discouraged. I constantly work at my Naoko-style manga and though it may not always be perfect, I feel satisfied even trying. :3
Actually this looks great! Very Naoko!! The only think is that, in my opinion, Takeuchi-sensei usually leaves in a bit more white (or at least lighter shades).
The skirt is pure awesome!
*looks shiftily*
"THAT'S HOW YOU KNOW!!!!!!!!!!...."
