blah blah backstory:

So, I decided I wanted to try making a show-accurate Fashion Style Celestia, so I bought up a spare and set about getting her ready. This is my first custom ever, but I'm not really being ambitious, I'm just going to repaint and rehair her (and probably do her cutie mark, sigh, I hate doing her cutie mark even when I have the luxury of copy-paste). She's just been dehaired (Baldlestia!), and I was kind of hoping I'd be able to salvage the hair because the FSes have extremely long 'dos to begin with, but...well...it was my first time de-hairing a pony, okay? Let's be kind and just say that this will not be an option.

the actual question:

So! I'm going to order Celestia a new mane and tail from Dollyhair.com, except I'm totally stuck on what colors to get. I'd like something a little more accurate than what she had, but that also looks good together...but so many colors! I feel like a kid in a candy store, except all the candy is made of nylon, and is actually hair instead of delicious sweets. So, if I could get some opinions on what colors to buy, I would really appreciate it!

The site is here: [link]

So many choices! Every time I think I've settled I see another one and go "ooh". Sea Nymph? Atomic Turquoise? I don't knoooow! :iconapplejackisdizzyplz:

eta: Somebody asked for a picture, so here you go! Bald, de-glittered, blankflank Celestia, right after getting a full scrubdown and spa treatment to prepare for painting -- with bonus control Celestia for comparison.

The washcloth was embroidered by ~EthePony, who is awesome and amazing and sent me a whole bunch of stuff he embroidered from my art. I'm not sure if he takes commissions, but you can ask!

I have an unfinished partial custom involving rehairing one of these girls, and these are the colors I picked:

Green - lucky clover and unlucky clover blend
Pink - tea rose and mulberry crush blend
Blue - mermaid and water nixie blend
Purple - amethyst and wisteria blend

Whichever colors you pick, I can't wait to see how she turns out! :D

Since I'm actally doing the same but with the brushable sister set I've been wounding my self what how to make it more color acurate and looking at the hair colors on the website its kinda tricky. theres two blue colors but they are just a tiny difference you could just go with the same color, but i picked the best colors

RASPBERRY SORBET- the pink
AMETHYST- purple blue color
UNLUCKY CLOVER - the green color
MERMAID - the green blue color

the mermaid color is very hit and miss i would say the perfect green blue color would be between the sea nymph and mermaid. but it all up to you, either way i bet you'll do awesome :3

Putting words in front of "-estia" does not automatically make it a thing.
